Our Story

Estover Energy (www.estover.co.uk) was founded in 2009, focusing on developing biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants across the UK. The company aimed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels by utilizing sustainable biomass energy sources. Over the years, Estover Energy has developed and financed significant projects, including the Speyside, Cramlington and Kent CHP plants, which contribute to local energy needs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Grow Up Farms

From 2018 Estover incubated Vescor, which later evolved into Grow Up Farms (www.growupfarms.co.uk). Grow Up Farms specializes in vertical farming, leveraging advanced agricultural technologies to grow produce more sustainably and efficiently. This transition highlights Estover Energy's commitment to innovation and sustainability beyond the energy sector, addressing broader environmental challenges through diversified initiatives

The Future

Looking ahead, Estover plans to develop the land adjacent to the Cramlington power station in Northumberland for future industrial heat uses. This strategic expansion aims to create a sustainable industrial hub that will leverage the power station's capabilities to provide reliable and eco-friendly heat to surrounding businesses. The development will attract industries seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and operational costs through the use of renewable energy sources.
